1. The Republican presidential nominee will be John McCain. The Democratic presidential nominee... who knows? Is that good news, bad news or no news?

2. This week, more news of phony memoirs: Misha Defonseca confessed that she didn't actually escape Nazis, traverse Europe and live with a pack of wolves. In fact, she's not Jewish and she spent the war safely in Brussels. And it turns out Margaret B. Jones is not a half Native American foster child slash South-Central gangster. She grew up in comfy Sherman Oaks, Calif. And she is Jewish. Fake memoirs: good news, bad news or no news?

3. Consumers have spent more than $100 million on a glorified vitamin pill called Airborne to keep from catching a cold when they fly on an airplane. This week, the makers admitted they can't cure or prevent the common cold and they'll pay $23.3 million for false advertising. Is that good news, bad news or no news?
