This weekend, "The Story of Stuff" turns one year old. The Story of Stuff is a remarkable internet video made by Annie Leonard. She spent a decade researching where all our "stuff" comes from: consumer goods, electronics, cars, food. She figured out how it was made, who bought it, and where it all ended up. Then she made a 20 minute video, The Story of Stuff. As it turns out, everything comes from somewhere. It gets to our stores. Then you buy it, you use it, you throw it away. And then everything ends up somewhere. That's the story of stuff. And as we start making all the consumer choices we're going to make this holiday season, it's important to remember that the story of stuff has protagonists, antagonists and a plot line that may in fact hold the world in the balance.

I found this so interesting, as a person living in rural wa. I am one of the few people in my community who has come to realize the poision placed in everything. When I mention this to others they don't really understand how we are all being tricked into buying products that will have reprocutions for generations & is enslaving poorer nations for the weath of a few.
