Andrew Stelzer is an award winning radio producer and print reporter, currently working as a producer for Making Contact, in Oakland, CA. Previously, he was the staff reporter and anchor WMNF in Tampa, FL, and a reporter and youth advocate at KBOO in Portland, OR.
Stelzer's work has appeared on PRI's The World, Latino USA, Radio France International, Swiss Radio, Pacifica, and others. He's written for many publications, including In These Times, Creative Loafing Tampa, The St. Petersburg Times, The Sante Fe New Mexican, E Magazine, and Clamor.

New numbers on foreclosure rates came out this week, and Florida has risen to the number two spot. One in every 173 homes there is now in foreclosure, and that rate is not looking to get better in the near future. That adds up to a lot of empty houses in Miami, a place where there are a lot of homeless families as well. One local activist has decided to match the two together.
