Satirical Overkill?
New York City newsstand owner Taleb Alkardai holds a New Yorker magazine with a cover that depicts Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama dressed as a Muslim and his wife as a militant sporting an Angela-Davis-style afro while the U.S. flag burns in a fireplace that has a portrait of Osama Bin Laden hanging over it. Barack Obama's campaign called the magazine cover "tasteless and offensive."
