A Mariachi Life
The mariachi uniform, or traje, derives from rodeo riding gear. Mariachi Aztlan gets its uniforms from Mexico. Each has to be fitted by a tailor. Uniforms cost more than $500 each, and the group covers the costs by playing gigs around town.
