Civil Rights Cold Cases
Wharlest Jackson, Feb. 27, 1967, Natchez, Miss. Jackson died when a bomb exploded under his truck. His killers were never identified. The Natchez police reopened the case in 1998, but no one has ever been arrested for the crime. In 2005, U.S. Attorney Dunn Lampton decided to reexamine the case. He said the F.B.I. investigation revealed Jackson's killer is now deceased.
