Jason Roberts, chairman of the Oak Cliff Foundation, standing in the lobby of the Texas Theatre. The theater opened in 1931, and the foundation is trying to renovate it to its condition in 1963, when Lee Harvey Oswald was apprehended here. The Venetian-style decor was completely stuccoed over shortly thereafter. The theater has been closed since 1989, and Roberts would like to reopen it as a concert venue. And get rid of the stucco.
