Mahvish Khan was still a law student when she went to help represent prisoners at Guantanamo Bay in 2006. She was supervised by Peter Ryan of the Dechert law firm in Philadelphia.  As the daughter of Afghan immigrants who is fluent in Pashto, she began her work as an interpreter for Afghan detainees. This weekend, she travels back to Cuba to meet with clients that she represents under Ryan's supervision.
