Oneal Moore, June 2, 1965, Varnado, La. White supremacist Ernest Ray McElveen was arrested for killing the black deputy sheriff in an ambush, but charges were dropped.  In 1990, the FBI reopened the case and then closed in.  In 2001 the case was reopened, but it stalled again.  McElveen died in 2003, but two other suspects may still be alive.
