SPAM
Last month we brought you the great debate: Is a burrito a sandwich? This week, a new food conundrum: Is spam pudding? Spam and pudding are two things you may not have put together on your own, but one of our listeners brought the pairing to our attention. We'll ask Linda Absher, a reference librarian at the Portland State University, if SPAM fits the definition of pudding.

The Inspiration for this Story: A listener from Madison Heights, Maine sent us this e-mail.

This afternoon, a librarian friend was telling me about a strange question put to the reference desk: What is pudding, exactly? The follow-up question was whether SPAM is technically pudding. The librarians decided it fit all the criteria they could come up with.

We told a few more stories, walked out of the gallery, and said our goodbyes. I got into my car, turned on the radio, and heard your story about burritos and sandwiches. Thought I should mention the SPAM thing.
