Widney high is a school for developmentally disabled kids in Los Angeles, California. A few years ago the music teacher, Michael Monagan, decided to teach them songwriting.
Some of these kids are exceptionally talented and have formed a band called the Kids of Widney High. The lyrics are brutally and wonderfully honest, the music super catchy... they've become a bit of an underground sensation and have even opened up for bands at the house of blues.
Pictured is Shelly Goodhope. He is a young man with autism. He graduated about 7 years ago and works at Mattel.
